Your tweens are online more than ever and they need guidance! I’ll do the heavy lifting for you. Your kids will listen to me in a way that they may not listen to you (no offense - I’ve got a tween too!). That’s what my Tween Workshops are for. We meet weekly with their chosen group of friends via Zoom and go over all the topics you want your child to be learning about in an open, fun and engaging conversation.... So Here’s the Nitty Gritty: -Your child plus 3-5 friends of their choosing -4 (kid only) weekly sessions + 1 end session that includes parents -Sessions are 1 hour long -Sessions are held via Zoom - usually on weekends -Families get ongoing access to me via email for follow up questions and check-ins The kids I’ve worked with feel grateful that their parents forced them into the workshops and have told me that they feel way more prepared to handle life online. Amazing books for kids! Going to be doing book recs for both adults and kids from now on. There are some amazing books out there to help kids think about their lives online. These are two of my favorites from the fabulous organization @eduempowerkids... Petra’s Power to See tales kids on a journey through the city to see the ways that media is co Stanton influence us- from billboards to commercials, social media and even music. Noah’s New Phone puts kids in the position to witness both the fun and the trouble that a new phone brings. Great for 8-12 year olds! tag a friend to share! #readingtime #readtolearn #medialiteracy #newphone #mediasavvy #kidsbooks #bookrecommendations #consciousparenting #digitalnatives #educateandempower #juliastorm #reconnect4u

It’s time to teach kids about LEGITIMATE news sources! Too many tweens, teens and young adults get their news in tiny fragmented bites from social media with no barometer for what’s true. It’s a huge part of the reason why our country is in the state it’s in and why conspiracy theories can grab a hold of well intentioned people. ... Algorithms on social media apps are meant to feed you more of what they think you already want- creating bubbles of information. I recommend talking to your kids about this stuff, looking at examples together, showing them real news sources. On my blog at www.reconnect-families.com I have an article with tons of resources and ideas for helping kids learn the difference between real news and misinformation. #realnews #fakenews #medialiteracy #thesocialdilemma #talktoyourkids #criticalthinker #consciousparenting #screentime #reconnect4u #findthetruth
