The Silicon Valley Spring 2021 real estate market has been a rocket ship in many single-family home markets and clearly hotter than other spring markets. Summer markets typically bring buyer fatigue and exhaustion and with that the leveling of prices and motivation. Fewer offers on properties, but if homes are priced below the comparable sales they are still getting multiple offers. By no means am I seeing a cliff, but rather a leveling-off market. I’m expecting a more vola...tile summer than usual because of travel uncertainty. Typically, summer is quieter because many residents travel internationally, so the right buyer may be on vacation when a property comes to market. Since most people had limited travel the past year, I’m expecting a tremendous travel season, which I think will create instability to the local real estate market. In-the-Field Friday: What is odd about this kitchen?

I think it is clear we are in a transition. Many people have moved away (temporarily during the pandemic or long term) and it is clearly visible in the rental market vacancy rate however the sales market for primary homes has been strong. Read my latest article about to find out my thoughts and how this is a cycle we've seen before (spoiler alert: dot.com crash anyone?) My money is on Silicon Valley, and until it normalizes, enjoy the light traffic!

In-the-Field Friday: I thought this was an interesting waste of space ... I can only assume they wanted to save a few bucks with the standard shower pan instead of using the whole space and making a custom tile pan. But they would have offset some of the costs since they wouldn't need both the shower glass and the glass blocks =)
