What is a cooperative preschool? How it began.. In 1927, The Children’s Community Center was organized in Berkeley, California, and is today the oldest continually operating cooperative preschool. In the 1940s, co-op schools developed in British Columbia, Ontario, Michigan..... During the 1940’s many men in the U.S. left to fight in World War II. Parents that were caring for their home front networked together to create a low cost educational experience for children. This movement flourished as parents shared in the planning and daily and operation of school. Over time councils were formed to create a standard of learning that supported the unique way children develop. Today.. Decades later parents are coming together as a community to work for the greater good so children receive the best possible start to school. Parents share and utilize their time, talents and interests to accomplish the collective goal. Parents have the opportunity to witness first hand how their child learns, how they socialize with others, what their strengths are and the areas they continue to develop in. This process leads to a deepened connection that stays with the parents and children for years to come. More benefits.. Another factor of a cooperative preschool is the cost. Our program costs significantly less then most programs. Being a nonprofit corporation the business itself belongs to it’s members. The families volunteer their time to serve in the important task of serving on the board of directors as well as holding parent jobs. The lack of disparity between the attending families and administration allows for accurate representation of our members. If you would like to see what joining our school might look like for your family DM and we will be happy to chat Now enrolling 2020-2021 #cooppreschool #preschool #preschoolteacher #preschoolactvtes #readysetgrowpreschool #temeculavalleypreschool #menifeevalleypreschool #murrietapreschool #wildomarpreschool

Hello! My name is Victoria Torres. My son, Tony, is in the 4’s PM class at Ready, Set Grow! We just joined the preschool in February and I could not be more excited about that decision . I was anxious to get my son into preschool and found Ready, Set, Grow! by accident through another Facebook page. I was intrigued by the idea of a co-op preschool, as I have always felt children thrive when their parents play an active role. Shortly after we joined, Ms. Heather reached out t...o the membership looking for a new treasurer. I knew it was a great opportunity to be more involved with the preschool, so I volunteered! Outside of preschool, we are pretty busy. I am a single mom and work nights as a registered nurse on a cardiac unit. I graduated in 2020 from Mt. San Jacinto College with my nursing degree, and I am currently enrolled part time in a Bachelor’s Degree program. Education is so important to me and I am thrilled to have found such an awesome school for my little one.

RAISING CONFIDENT Cautious KIDS: 5 THINGS To know 1. Shyness is a form of anxiety. Shyness is not a choice. Psychology Today reports that shyness is apprehension that some feel when approaching or being approached by others. It is a response to fear. The thing about shy individuals that most don’t realize is that theywant to connect with others, but may not know how. Many times, the very thought of starting a conversation with others or being talked to induces palpable anx...iety. 2. Be patient. The number one thing you can do for a shy child is to be patient. 3. Encourage, not force. Don’t give up on them. Unwanted attention makes shy kids very uncomfortable. Showing up late to an activity or event where my kids have to walk into a room and have all eyes on them can be utterly terrifying. So if you are the dad doing plies or pirouettes so your daughter will feel more comfortable in ballet class or the mom coaching a little league baseball team because that’s the only way your son will playgood for you. You get it. 4. Help them see what they’re good at. Celebrate even their smallest victories. 5. It’s okay to feel scared. One strategy that helps kids in new situations is the Five Times Rule. Basically, acknowledge that it’s okay to be scared. Five Times Rule. tell them that the first day of practice, they’ll probably have lots of butterflies in their stomach. It’s okay to be scared; it’s okay to feel nervous. The second day, there will be a few less butterflies and they’ll be a little less scared. Basically, after five times, the nervousness will be gone. Acknowledging that it’s not only okay to be scared, but it’s normal. There’s something about getting a free pass to be scared that makes a shy kid decide they don’t need to be scared. So if you have a shy child in your family, a kid on your team who’s more reserved than the rest, or a child in your classroom who is withdrawn, just remember that theywant to be involved. Theywantto be successful, to be part of the fun, but they need to feel safe doing so first. Be patient and don’t give up! kids. Confidence doesn’t need to be loud.
