Stories from Your Community is back for 2021, starting the year with a special group of storytellers. The Traveling Storytime program trains volunteers to go to daycare centers and preschools to read to children. Join some of the volunteers as they share books and demonstrate some of the ways they engage the children they read to. The Library mourns the passing of science teacher, principal, superintendent, college president, community college district board member, and former Redwood City Library Foundation board member Tom Mohr. Our hearts go out to his wife Sandy and the rest of Tom's family. Tom was a brilliant, inspirational educator and administrator, as well as a truly compassionate and humble human, and he was a tremendous champion for literacy and learning. For over five decades, the youth of San Mateo County benefitted from his passion and his knowledge. Rest in peace, Tom.

It's election day, and we are here to remind you that there are Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes throughout San Mateo County, and two are at Redwood City Public Library locations. The Vote Center at Fair Oaks Branch Library is open until 8pm today. Vote Centers are physical locations where voters can register to vote or update their registration, drop off a voted ballot, obtain a replacement ballot, or cast their vote using an accessible voting machine. Fair Oaks Branch Li...brary is located at 2510 Middlefield Rd. The Downtown Library at 1044 Middlefield Rd is the site of a curbside ballot drop-off location until 8pm today. Simply drive up and follow the signs. As with Ballot Drop Boxes, all curbside ballot boxes are safely secured by official election staff and delivered directly to the San Mateo County Elections Office for processing.
