It's a non-sworn position that helps with things like criminal investigations, animal control, and crime prevention activities. Three people were arrested over the weekend during a traffic stop after K-9 Aries helped locate several grams of drugs. Around 1:30 a.m. on 6/5/21, Officer Lampron initiated a traffic stop. Sgt. Bowen brought K-9 Aries out, who alerted to drugs inside the vehicle. In total, we located .40 grams of crack cocaine, 1.29 grams of cocaine, 11.17 grams of methamphetamine, 7.33 grams of heroin, and several packages of unknown drugs. We also found packing materials, scales, and more than $12k cash.

If you live on the northern end of the city (what we call Area 2), join us for a Neighborhood Watch Meeting on Friday, June 18! Our officers will be there to talk with residents about what's happening in the community and steps everyone can take to make the communities safer. Area 2 covers the city limits north of Crittenden St and Park Avenue (see the second image for map). We hope to see you there!

Bovine on the run! We had a loose calf this afternoon in the area of Breckenridge St and Johnson St. We got help and a livestock trailer from Kasy Baker. He and Cpl. Benton were able to wrangle the calf into the trailer while a unit from the Tehama County Sheriff's Office and our CSO's helped keep it contained. It was transported to the Tehama County Animal Shelter where the owner was contacted to come pick it up.
