I’m so pleased with the progress that Santino has shown this year in his work. He lets me ask just a bit more of him with every ride and is gaining confidence in himself and control of his big body!

Four year old Lusitano mare, Frida, getting used to the sights and sounds at Hawkwood, and getting her much-needed beauty rest in the evening. Thanks to this mare’s trainer, Lisa Everett, and her owner for sending Frida to me to get out and about on the 200 acres of property here.

Beyond grateful that Terry Hilst has stepped in to save the Fresno County Horse Park! I can’t wait to go back for the 2021 season.

Summer and Sky on their way to finishing a double clean cross country yesterday at Woodside. They had a double clean show jumping today as well to finish in 8th on their dressage score in Senior Training! Summer has brought this 6 year old Thoroughbred so far in the beginning stages of his career and I’m excited to see what the future holds for them.

It will be so sad to say goodbye to the Santa Rosa Equestrian Center when it closes at the end of October, but I feel so lucky to be able to start spending more time at Hawkwood Hill Farm over the next few weeks. Can’t think of a better way to start the day with these gorgeous views!

I love this sport because it offers something for every type of horse and rider. I was lucky enough to get to compete two very different horses at Twin Rivers this weekend and both of them won their respective divisions. Both boys tried their hearts out and had so much fun too!

Eli had a great run today at Twin Rivers in the Open Novice with a super obedient dressage test, a careful double clean show jumping, and a bold cross country round to win his division. I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to show this special pony while his mom focused on her human baby. I see great things to come for this talented young pony!

We will be schooling cross country at Twin Rivers next Friday and Saturday, September 4-5. All levels welcome. Let me know if you would like to come along!

We had a great time competing at the summer Woodside horse trials this weekend. Covid policies were extremely strict (hooray!), the cross country courses had some fun changes, and all of the horses gained really positive mileage. Fingers crossed that we can continue to compete for a few more events this season!

I want Jet and the evil pony!

Offered for sale: Chromatic, 16.1hh, 8 year old Thoroughbred gelding. Cori is a barn favorite: he’s easy-going, athletic, and fun to ride in all three phases. He has been in an eventing program since starting his sport horse career at age 4 and has been brought along and shown by junior riders, giving him a solid foundation and a forgiving nature. Most recently he finished in 3rd place on his dressage score in Junior Novice at the July Twin Rivers Horse Trials. He has been schooling at training level and is ready to move up.
