Not too too bad for a 16'X10' garden gone feral- minus the few we've already thrown to the chickens.

Snood The Dude and Felice (new turkey hen) were allowed in together early this morning. He made one quick attack style lunge at her and that seemed to be the extent of his "I don't know I'm a turkey" aggression. Not taking any chances however, they will be monitored and not kept together unless I'm home. Snood was hand raised by a young 4H-er and when he was put in with other birds, began killing them. He just doesn't understand or speak bird language yet. Today is great start though!

Of the chicks hatched this year, 11 were cockerels. Gack! All sold now though. Hard to tell they're all Speckled Sussex Xs.

Here is Snood the Dude, a Red Penciled Palm turkey and his new woman. Not sure what her color is called but she looks kind of like a Royal Palm. No name on her yet, she just arrived and they are in adjoining pens to get acquainted before the merger.

Far left- Snood The Dude's pen, middle- grow off pen for adolescents and far right (white pipe) a chicken tractor for little ones just small enough that they'd slide through the bigger pen's panels. The black metal pipe structures were sold as dog kennels, but on level ground they make pretty nice bird coops.
