The County wide stay at home order is still in effect. Del Mar Mesa Preserve - we will be inspecting the area to see how we can avoid the overflowing pools and perhaps make some one way trails to aid in social distancing Los Peñasquitos Canyon - bridges are out and there is still quite a bit of flooding, looking toward the weekend for possible partial opening, that’s the goal We really appreciate your continued patience. Good afternoon Rancho Penasquitos! Below are housing statistics for the month of March (Rancho Penasquitos, North San Diego County, San Diego County and N. San DIego County by Zip). As COVID-19’s impact spread across the country in March, the stock market declines started in February accelerated downward before recovering a bit in the last week of the month. With volatility across all the financial markets, lenders began tightening underwriting standards and some buyers foun...d they no longer were approved for a loan. Massive layoffs also shook the economy with 6.6 million initial jobless claims filed in a single weekdouble the number last week and ten times higher than any other week on record prior to this month. Closed Sales decreased 3.5% for Detached homes but increased 22.3% for Attached homes. Pending Sales decreased 20.8% for Detached homes and 19.9% for Attached homes. The Median Sales Price was up 4.4% to $715,000 for Detached homes & 1.9% to $470,000 for Attached homes. Days on Market decreased 18.4% for Detached homes and 27.8% for Attached homes. Supply decreased 37.9% percent for Detached homes and 26.1% for Attached homes. While the effect of COVID-19 is varied throughout the country, it is still to early to determine the impacts to housing activity now and into the coming months. It is hopeful the pandemic spread has leveled and in the very near future portions of the workforce and get back to work safely.
