I did a thing yesterday! It’s been a year and a half since I’ve colored my hair. Ready for a quick hair history of Rachel? I have put my hair through the ringer! I’ve been coloring my hair since I was 11. At 15 I started doing fashion colors. I’ve had my whole head red, blue, purple, green, back to red. You name it, I did it! Then, in a 6 month span, I decided to go from green, to red, to platinum... and my hair was PISSED. {it was a fun color, but damn it was not happy wi...th me}. So in March of last year I touched up my platinum for the last time and decided that after that I was dedicated to letting it grow. It had been 19 years since I had seen what my true natural color was on my whole head!! As someone who changes their hair a ton, it was a tough commitment. {Especially since the fashion colors were now becoming more and more popular}. I did it though! Turns out my natural color is actually really pretty lol. I had plenty of clients tell me, I like your color! I want that color. Now that my hair is back in a healthy state, AND ITS LONG AGAIN(!!), I decided to make a change. Thank you Miss @beautybymelissabee for taking good care of my hair, from red to platinum, to grow out, to now. It feels good to have color back in these locks! See more

Original plan: black bangs with red hair. Plan B: half&half. The integrity of the hair had to be taken into account. The side where she had blue was over processed and damaged to the point that we could barely comb through it. Lifting that color out would have caused more damage to her hair. So we lifted the opposite side and once lifted added red and used black on the blue side (and used @olaplex on both sides with the solid colors to help restore that damaged hair). Luckily she was super flexible and was appreciative we didn’t jeopardize her hair to the point of no return. @ Lodi, California
