It’s last minute but at 9:30 at New School of Architecture I will be presenting Bread & Salt and Friendship Park to The Friends of San Diego Architecture this morning. I was just looking at their website and saw that I first presented to this group in 1990! Has it really been 29 years? At the time I may have shown conceptual drawings for the still unbuilt My Beautiful Dog O Mat in Hillcrest. I met my future wife Isabel Dutra on that job! She was my client.

I’m proud to have contributed to this project. Its start coincided with the birth of my daughter Dutra Brown, who is now in her 5th and final year of architecture school at SCIarc.

Starting a very invigorating and long term project. The first move is to study a prototype for a simple cabin in nature. One which can stand alone as well as be grouped into small pods. The talented architects who have worked with Juan Yi so far have set a high bar. Wish me luck! The image labeled 2020 has my name on it.
