Power Baseball is BACK this summer and the PSGSL is proud to present PRIDE Night on Sat, June 19. Experience the excitement of collegiate baseball as the Power take on the Arroyo Seco Saints, starting at 7:05PM. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the box office, one hour before the first pitch. **2021 NAGAAA CUP ANNOUNCEMENT** Due to a host of factors the 2021 NAGAAA Cup dates have been shifted from late March to Memorial Day Weekend, May 28-30, 2021 i...n Palm Springs, California. All teams currently registered for the 2021 NAGAAA Cup will remain registered and do not need to do anything to keep their spot in the tournament. Registration for the new dates is open. Any A or B Division teams that would like to register for the new tournament dates may do so by contacting NAGAAA Athletic Director, Jeff Sloan via email at [email protected]. The host hotel will remain The Margaritaville Resort. However, all current hotel reservations will be cancelled. A new booking link for the new dates will be sent out and posted to social media very soon. Again, please rebook your hotel under the new booking link once it is sent out. The field complexes will remain the same with the 2021 NAGAAA Cup being played at Big League Dreams and Demuth Park. Players and attendees should expect a larger planned social schedule during the tournament now that the dates have shifted. COVID UPDATE The CA Department of Public Health has released guidelines regarding Adult Sports and have classified Softball as an Outdoor Moderate Contact Sport. This means that under the current guidelines softball COULD POSSIBLY resume once a county moves into the RED TIER. (We are currently in Purple.) Inter-team competitions (i.e., between two teams) will not be allowed in California until January 25, 2021, at the earliest. The return-to-competition date will be r...eassessed by January 4, 2021 based on California disease transmission trends and is subject to change at any time given the level of COVID-19 transmission in California. Please know that this does not mean we will begin playing or that practices will resume immediately following Riverside Country moving into the Red Tier. Based on current data and our discussions with the City, it is unlikely practices not games will be allowed to resume in Palm Springs before mid/late February. We will keep you updated on the latest information as it becomes available, especially as it pertains to the PS Winter Classic and the start of our 2021 Spring Season currently scheduled for mid Apr. Here’s a little teas...er:: Located in Palm Springs, the 16-acre, 398-room property is just 15 minutes from the ballpark and features multiple dining options, live music nightly, and tons of indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out. We regret to announce that there will be no 2020 Fall Season. As you know, Riverside County and the City of Palm Springs are following the State’s 4-Tiered guidelines for reopening. This plan allows counties to advance towards the least-restrictive Tier 1 if they show a steady decline in the number of coronavirus cases over a 3-week period. We are currently in Tier 3, which put us on track to reach Tier 1 at the beginning of November. Unfortunately, the latest RivCo data... shows our numbers rising, to a point that we may go backwards to Tier 4 again. This development eliminates our timeline and hope of being able to resume play next month. To say the least, 2020 has been a year like no other. We hope you are doing well, continuing to be safe, and staying connected with friends, family and teammates. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Board if you have any questions or suggestions. This week, California transitioned from Purple to the less-restrictive Red Phase. This sign that our numbers are continuing to go down allows more of our local businesses to open, expand their operations and for more activities to take place. Several activities have been allowed during the Purple Phase, like Pickle ball and exercises classes in our local parks. So this transition begs the question, when can we resume softball? PSGSL Members: The fields aren’t open yet but below is the latest information on our lockdowns. We’ll update you as soon as we know more... The state data released shows the county (Riverside) with a 6.4 percent positivity rate and 6.7 case rate. If the county can maintain these figures or improve them, it will move into the red tier on Sept. 22, according to Jose Arballo, spokesperson for Riverside University Health System - Public Health. A move into the red tier will allo...w reopening of the following industry sectors: Indoor retail (at 50 percent maximum capacity) Malls, destination centers, swap meets (at 50 percent maximum capacity with food courts allowed to reopen at reduced capacity; common areas would remain closed) Indoor personal care services Indoor museums, zoos and aquariums (at 25 percent maximum capacity) Indoor places of worship (at 25 percent maximum capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer) Indoor gyms, fitness centers (at 10 percent capacity) Indoor restaurants (at 25 percent capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer) Schools can reopen on a widespread basis (without a waiver) See more
