Pool repair update The Board of Directors and PMP regret to inform you that the pool will not be opened this weekend as originally scheduled. Major delays in the re-surfacing and re-filling of the pool have pushed the opening until next Friday. The contractor (CPR Pools) needs the additional time to bring the chemical levels up to LA Health Department safety standards. Additionally, CPR has informed us that they will not be able to turn on the heater for either the pool or... spa for an additional 30 days in order to avoid cracks developing in the new surface. We hope you understand that neither the Board or PMP had anything to do with the delays but have the duty to ensure the safety of all residents. We will open the pool area as soon as we are given the clearance to do so. We are truly sorry for the unfortunate delay and hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

CORBIN GATE CLOSURE The City sponsored fireworks will be taking place on Monday, July 4th. As done in prior years the resident only entrance gate located at Corbin and Santa Rosa will be closed to ALL traffic from 4P.M. until 11P.M. The gate closure ensures the privacy of our community is maintained and reduces the likely hood of an incident taking place due to the amount of increased traffic and patrons. In addition to the gate closure, Golden West Security will be patrolling the community for the duration of the festivities. Please notify all parties that may be effected by the gate closure

July 1, 2016 RE: Promenade Pool Closure Update Great News! Workers are scheduled to begin draining the pool today with repairs beginning tomorrow through Sunday. It will then take another day to fill the pool back up and possibly one more to get the chemicals back up to normal. If all goes as planned, the pool should be opened on Tuesday. ... We will send further updates if the schedule changes for any reason.

June 29, 2016 RE: Pool Repair Update Dear Homeowners,... A recent email blast went out stating that the Association was hoping that repairs to the pool would begin on June 27th. However, due to the extreme heat we have been experiencing the repair company could not begin the job as scheduled. Every expert that we have contacted stated that fiberglass coatings peel away very quickly when exposed to temperatures over 90 degrees. For the Promenade pool, it will take nearly 2 days to simply drain the water and then another couple of days to complete the repairs. This means that the pool surface would be exposed to 100 degree plus weather for over 4 days, possibly destroying the entire fiberglass coating and would result in the Association having to re-surface the entire pool. With permits and inspections, re-surfacing could take at least 2-3 months to complete and we would lose the entire summer swimming season. We understand that many of you are extremely upset about the timing of this situation but please realize that this could not have been foreseen prior to the fiberglass section being removed from the pool. In fact, four different pool companies recently inspected the pool when submitting bids to provide monthly maintenance to the Association and not one of them noticed any serious cracks or irregularities in the pool surface. While this has been extremely unfortunate, we are not willing to sacrifice the safety of our residents or damage the pool even further in an attempt to open the pool prematurely. We can assure you, however, that the repairs will be made as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience, Sincerely, The Promenade at Porter Ranch Board of Directors

Promenade Pool Closure Update As you may already be aware, the pool was recently closed due to a large section of fiberglass being removed from the bottom of the pool. The good news is that the pool will not have to be completely re-surfaced and the area can be repaired within 5-7 days. Right now we are looking at the work beginning on Monday, June 27th and are hoping it will be complete for the 4th of July although we cannot promise this at this point. We are still going through the security footage to see how and when this happened and will legally pursue any vandals if they can be identified. We will provide further updates as they become available.

Dear Community Leaders, The Aliso Canyon Gas Leak has had a devastating effect on the surrounding areas, including Porter Ranch, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, and Northridge. Our team, in partnership with community leaders, has explored the possibility of using a proportion of any settlement funding to create LA’s first net zero energy* and ultra low emission neighborhood. Any program of this type would be separate and in addition to any individual settlements homeowners and bus...inesses may receive. As we develop the concept of a net zero energy and ultra low emission neighborhood we will be guided by the following principles: 1. Restore pride in the neighborhood(s); 2. Improve home values; 3. Improve public spaces, infrastructure and community facilities; and 4. Reduce energy and water costs as well as dependency on natural gas To ensure that any proposal fully reflects the priorities and concerns of the local communities involved we want to canvass your views on what a net zero energy and ultra low emission neighborhood should include and where it should be focused. We would be grateful if you could complete the questionnaire at this link by the end of Monday, March 14. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! -Mayor Garcetti's Office of Sustainability
