PROJECT 29:11 would like to thank the Covina Sunrise Rotary Club for providing lunch for our volunteers for the past 6 months. Fridays is our distribution day so many volunteers come in the mornings around 7:00 in the morning and stay until we close around 4:00 in the afternoon. Some of the variety of lunches are Old World Deli sandwiches, pizza, KFC, Taco Bell and more. Friday's lunch has been a great boost for our hard working volunteers. Maureen Hinds, our Food Bank Director, not only gets lunch ready to serve, but is also a member of the Covina Sunrise Rotary. THANK YOU COVINA SUNRISE ROTARY!!!

We want to thank Covina Sunrise Rotary for the lunches they provide for all the volunteers on Fridays. This is our distribution day and many volunteers are there at 7:30am to start getting the food to be given out later bagged and ready. All the volunteers look forward to the lunches provided. This week the Rotary brought Old World Deli sandwiches, bowls of pasta salad and fruit medley. Maureen Hinds, our food bank director and Rotarian of the year, is getting the plates ready.

Project 29:11 was honored to have Hilda Solis, Los Angeles County Supervisor come to our food bank May 7th and present us with a check for $5,000. This will enable us to feed more people in the community. Present, along with Supervisor Solis, was our Food Bank Director, Maureen Hinds, Executive Director, Lee McFarland, and myself, Dora Gomez, President. She was then given a tour of the food bank.

Project 29:11 would like to thank owner Tami Moreira of Johnny's Auto Service, located at 239 E. San Bernardino Rd., Unit A, Covina. They are currently having a food drive to help Project 29:11 during this time of great need in our community. As you can see on the banner in front of the business, they are giving each customer $1 credit to their bill for every pound of food they donate. We have been seeing donations coming to our food bank. Thank you Tami and all your generous customers.

We want to thank a friend of our food bank's director Maureen Hines, which wants to remain anonymous, for providing lunch for all our volunteers this past Friday. This past Friday was our busiest day since March 20th, when we changed to Fridays because of the quarantine. Since that day we have been able to provide food for over 4,600 people. We want to thank A1 Party Rental for the use of their 4 popups the past 3 Fridays. It has been a great protection from the rain and sun.... Thanks to Jan Aragon from the Covina Valley Unified School District for the 240 packed sacked lunches. We have a great group of hard working volunteers. Many come in early in the morning and stay until we are done in the afternoon. Thank you Drew (Andrew) Aleman for you help these past 2 Fridays. The last pictures are of the clients receiving their boxes of food. I want to personally thank all those have have sent donations, this has greatly helped in being able to help so many that come for help for food in these trying times with so many out of work. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation you can mail your check to Project 29:11, 250 E. San Bernardino Rd., Covina, 91723 or go to our website, https://project2911.net/ and donate. Thank you, Dora Gomez President See more
