"Gang culture in particular seems so far removed from our experience that the idea of bridging that gap in any kind of meaningful way seems impossible. Keep some of our LA church partners in your prayers. There've been multiple shootings in their areas the past 2 weeks, 3 people killed, 2 in the past 6 days. It's tough to engage the communities right now but we can keep praying for the churches & those affected. 2 Cor. 1:3-4

Know your city, pray for your city-Highland Park. Keep this community in your prayers. There have been 4 murders in or around this area already this year along w/ multiple other shootings. Some gang related, some not. Pray for the neighborhood, the families grieving, the gangs in the area & for God’s comfort & hope during this time.

Sorry it's been a while since we posted. Wanted to share this clip from Youtube...very insightful and hopefully hearing a story like this only leads towards humble understanding & a compassionate heart.

This is an old article from 2008 but I highly encourage you to check it out...sad and difficult but provides some tough things to wrestle through.

I just wonder about the validity, but it still does not change my memories of how great a dad he was and what a sweet man he was, she said. Plus, gang-related or not, it was so horribly brutal. Please take time to read...heartbreaking but you can see the impact he had on people's lives.

Know Your City, Pray For Your City-La Puente La Puente is a small city in LA County located in the San Gabriel Valley near West Covina & Baldwin Park. 6 people have been shot & 3 people killed the past 4 days in this area, including a couple daytime shootings.... Pray for all of LA, including cities within our city....pray for the families/friends grieving, pray for churches in the area to be intentional with those enduring hardships & heartaches, pray for the gangs in these areas & pray for God's hope/comfort to touch down in people's hearts.
