"Presbytery of New Covenant in southeast Texas has had a strong youth ministry for decades. A highlight has been its Youth Conclaves weekend retreats that are led by the youth themselves. These retreats are a time to meet other Presbyterian youth and a time to grow as disciples. Our presbytery also recognizes that youth is a time of exploration and identity formation including gender or sexual orientation. This became apparent in February of 2020 when a request was received regarding a young person who was hesitant to attend a retreat weekend because of who she is. Katrina is transgender." https://www.presbyterianmission.org/story/pt-0521-beloved/

"Buildings are reopening and in-person engagement is slowly coming back. As leaders look to the future, many wonder how to build consensus about the next chapter. Over the past several weeks, my phone has been ringing off the hook with clients looking for help with planning. It’s not surprising. Planning has traditionally been our go to approach for getting people motivated to move together from point A to point B." https://www.congregationalconsulting.org/getting-on-the-sa/

"In its heyday in the 1950s, Caldwell Presbyterian in Charlotte was a neighborhood church with a congregation of about 1,200 people including the Belk family of department store fame. But by 2006, Caldwell was down to 12 members, all of them in their twilight years, and the church was scheduled to close. Then a different-looking group that once worshiped together at Seigle Avenue Presbyterian which Caldwell had helped start decades earlier joined with the aged Caldwell ...remnant to resurrect the church on Fifth Street in Elizabeth." https://www.yahoo.com//resurrecting-church-one-charlotte-p

At Epiphany, we read in the gospel Matthew that Royal Wise Ones bring gifts to Jesus. This story reminds us that God is bringing us gifts to enjoy and use for the benefit of others. https://www.riversidepresbytery.com/welcome-to-the-season-/
