On October 22nd and 23rd Butte College Pre-Health Professionals Club hosted the first Bone Marrow Donor Registry on Butte College campus! We registered dozens of Butte students and faculty to be potential lifesavers and sold beautiful homemade treats to support the cause. Thank you so much to everyone who came to support us! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Hello Butte College pre-health students! We are currently planning our presence at Club Promo Day. This event goes from 9am until 2pm on Thursday the 20th and is a chance for us to promote our club and reach more pre-health students on campus. ... We need more volunteers to cover the table during our open time slots at the event, so if you or someone you know wants to get involved please let us know. There will be lab coats for us to wear and volunteers will get a free PHPC t-shirt! Ideally we would like at least two people at the table at a time. Here is our current schedule: Club Promo Day 9-10 2 people needed (or more) 10-11 1 person needed (or more) 11-12 2 people needed (or more) 12-1 covered, but available 1-2 covered, but available We've decided that our table will include some anatomical models, sphygmomanometers (BP Cuffs), and information about our three big projects for this semester (bone marrow registry event, work with Alzheimer's Association, and Little Hats, Big Hearts). We will also have a photo opportunity for pre-health students to be posted on this Facebook page, including an awesome picture frame prop.

Hello all! Our awesome volunteer project, Little Hats, Big Hearts, is starting to take off! With that in mind, we are reaching out to members and to the community at large to collect red yarn and crochet hooks to start our work. This charity program collects handmade red hats and donates them to babies and preemies to raise awareness of congenital heart defects. https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/little-hats-big-hearts... We will be asking our families and friends with stockpiles of yarn for their reds, and it would be great if you could too! All the baby and preemie hats will be sent out to hospitals in late December, so the sooner we begin, the more families we help!
