SCAM ALERT.....SCAM ALERT......SCAM ALERT....... Public Service Announcement: There are LOTS of hackers attempting to scam people recently, especially during these troubled times. Sometimes people use FB or websites to gain some private information (like names & email addresses) and then send scam messages PRETENDING to be someone you know, like maybe from a photographer in PPLAC that has their email address listed on the website. I received one of these today & have heard ...from others receiving them "from me" (though NOT with my actual email address, if you look closely). These messages often try to pull on heart strings but always ask for a purchase to be made on the sender's behalf. One recent message supposedly "from me" was sent saying this: "I'm out of the State now and I've got credence in you to take care of this. I would have called your phone but i presently do not have access to my mobile phone. Professional Photographer's of LA County, needs some gift cards for donation to Veterans at Hospice and Palliative care units for preventive items against Corona Disease( COVID 19)." Please - Be careful, be aware... and be skeptical! Always check with the person directly to see if this request was actually made, and DON'T reply to the message to do this.
