Intercultural Residency Program

It’s been a while since we posted here! Veronica and I had been leading the church since July. Last weekend we were asked to talk about our experience in multicultural ministry at Parkview at the Ethnic Concerns Consultation in Zephyr Point.

It was a wonderful Mother’s Day service this morning at Parkview with Resident Pastor Veronica giving the beautiful Discovery Table message to the children about gratitude and love, and in partnership with Rev. Aart gave a meaningful sermon. carnations were shared with all the mothers and women. Thank you Veronica and Rev. Aart!

Last night I joined Jewish Action NorCal for a time of protest, worship, and witness at Sukkot for Shelter and Safety. The holiday Sukkot celebrates God's provision, even in difficult seasons. It calls us to resilience and hospitality. We welcomed ancestors into the sukkah and listened to the stories of immigrants and children and grandchildren of immigrants. We called for an end to unjust practices which build profit off of imprisoning refugees seeking asylum. We remembered the adults and children who died while imprisoned in detention centers in the past year. ~Veronica

Tonight i hold another Syrian cultural event at Eventide Church. Friends will share their stories, we will cook Syrian food, listen to Syrian music and learn how to dabke dance. Rola
