Our friends at The Boardroom need a little help.

The Blue Lake Rancheria Tribe strives to reduce waste that ends up in the landfill, including food scraps which mostly can be composted and repurposed for the t...ribe’s garden. For example, grain and hops from the tribe’s newest business, Powers Creek Brewery, are composted. This material provides food and moisture for the micro-organisms that break down the compost, so it’s ready for use in the garden. Those organisms digest the raw ingredients of the compost and convert it into soil. Leftover food scraps from the tribe’s restaurants, commercial kitchens, and brewery are composted and then used in the tribe’s sustainable garden to improve soil structure and provide nutrients to plants.

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult choice to shut down due to Humboldt County moving to the purple tier of COVID restrictions. In the meantime, we are exploring options to get PCB beer to-go (that doesn't involve opening the bar) or in the convenience store. We are also thinking about doing some bigger beers that require aging during this down time. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated!

Our current beers

As the weather turns, we are sad to see our outdoor beer garden close. But we are creating a new smoke free indoor beer garden in the former location of the Lily Pad that will open Wednesday, 11/4 from 12pm-6:30pm. We will continue with some menu additions and the sushi hand roll special! ON TAP: California Common, Porter, French-Style Biere De Garde, Bohemian-Style Pilsner, Dusseldorf-Style Altbier and we still have a little bit of Belgian-Style Witbier left. Get it while you can!

Wow, today’s brew is crazy. We are brewing an oatmeal stout, which was already interesting by using a small amount of cookie malt in the recipe. But then we added this flavor addition of Mt. Hood hops and the combined aroma was a wall of intensity in the brew house that hit you like a ton of bricks! Keep an eye out for this one in a month or so!

New beer alert! Our California Common, sometimes referred to as steam beer, is a warm fermented lager and is anything but common. Pouring a light amber gold with a mild, malty caramel sweetness backed by a crisp and clean hop profile. Brewed with Weyermann Pilsen malt coupled with Munich, Crystal, Victory and Dextrin malts and hopped exclusively with Northern Brewer hops. 6.6% ABV / 40.8 IBU’s
