Congratulations to Explorer Lieutenant Prado!! Today he graduated from Newport Harbor High School Explorer Lieutenant Prado will be attending Vanguard University to study business administration. His career goal is to become a police officer. Due to COVID-19 he was not able have his graduation ceremony. CMPD traffic bureau surprised him with a police caravan congratulating him on his hard work. Among those Officer was lead Advisor Officer Bao who gave him a $1000 scholarship check. OCLEEAA Explorer Competition 2019! Over the weekend CMPD Explorers along with many other agencies from Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino, and California Highway Patrol competed in the annual explorer competition. During this competition explorers are exposed to real life scenarios that officers encounter on a day to day basis. Scenarios within the competition include car stop, active shooter, domestic dispute, DUI and many more. Post 198 placed 5th overall in domestic dispute! CMPD Explorers along side the Magical Wheelchair Organization worked together in building a customized CMPD motorcycle wheelchair for Officer Reyes nephew, Christian. Christian was given this wheelchair a day prior to Officer Reyes’ 1 year memorial. Officer Reyes was not only a motor Officer but also an advisor for Post 198.
