LAPES sends it's deepest condolences to the family of life time member Tom LaBonge of the Los Angeles city council representing the 4th district, serving from 2001 to 2015. Councilman LaBonge was a consummate storyteller, cheerleader, and guide he was, and forever will be, Mr. Los Angeles. Tom LaBonge had deep Irish roots from his mother and was instrumental in keeping the ceremonies of Irish man and Irish woman of Los Angeles which have been held annually since 1876 at Ci...ty Hall, downtown LA. Councilman LaBonge was instrumental in arranging for the St. Patrick day parade in Los Angeles for several years until his retirement . LAPES will always and forever be thankful to Mr. Los Angeles support and assistance our dear friend Tom LaBonge.

Update: The LASD PIO has updated that both deputies are indeed both alive but critical. Thoughts and prayers for the deputies are indeed needed! Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. - Matthew 5:9.

A much heartfelt thank you from a retired member of the An Garda Siochana. Gardi Adrian Donohoe was murdered on January 25, 2013 Bellurgan, County Louth at a credit union. The murder fled to New York on a stolen British passport. When investigators from Ireland arrived and met with the NYPD who in turn treated the investigation as if it was one of their own. With the help of Homeland Security the suspect was returned to Ireland and is now facing a mandatory 40 years to life. Thank you NYPD and Homeland Security.
