You do not need a switch anymore to get a meltan box. You do need a nintendo account, you can sign up for one on nintendo.com Once you have a ninendo account download Pokemon HOME onto your phone. Inside the Pokemon Home app, associate your Nintendo account with Pokemon HOME by logging in and following the prompts. Now switch to the Pokemon GO app and in the setting menu, scroll to the bottom and choose Pokemon HOME.... Log in with your Nintendo account and transfer a pokemon to Pokemon HOME. (This is the same as transfer to Professor Oak, you get candy and the pokemon is gone.) You will receive a Meltan Box in your inventory, it behaves exactly like an incense. You will want to be moving around to maximize the spawns. Currently you can use a Meltan Box once every 3 days. If you would like another Meltan Box, or need one on a different account go into the Pokemon HOME app and accept the transferred pokemon, and then log into the other devise with your nintendo account and repeat the process.
