Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church, We are often disturbed by the evil, injustice, fraud, and perversion around us propagated by the rich and powerful. We wonder if God will ever intervene and bring justice to those who get away with oppressing others. We wonder how long the lies and deceit will continue to dominate the air waves and the internet. We wonder how long God will put up with the sexual immorality that is sweeping our nation and the world. We... wonder if God will ever remove those who murder the innocent. And perhaps more importantly, how should we respond when we ourselves suffer because of the wickedness of others? Here’s what God says: Be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near (James 5:8, NIV). What does it mean to be patient and stand firm? As we gather this Sunday, May 16th, we will look into God’s Word and discover that there is a lot to being patient and standing firm in Christ. And as we do that, God can do great things in and through us! Being patient and standing firm in Christ, Pastor Rick

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church, We have a big problem today. It is bigger than big it is huge; even gigantic: people lie. Have you noticed? It is not a new huge, gigantic problem, it has been around for a long time. It was even a problem in the early church. And it starts at an early age. Kids lie. Teenagers lie. Adults lie. Teachers, lawyers, doctors, factory workers, office workers and politicians lie. Why is this such an affront to God? It is bec...ause the Creator God is a God of truth. Jesus came into the world to testify to the truth (John 18:37). Satan on the other hand, is a liar and the father of lies. When we lie we join the enemy of God, and we become an enemy of God. When we lie, it is like spitting in God’s face. Our lies define us as sinners. Fortunately, there is mercy at the cross of Jesus. Fortunately, Jesus took the punishment we deserve. Fortunately, the God of Truth gives us the opportunity to walk in the truth and empowers us continue in the truth. It can only happen if we are crucified with Christ. It can only happen if we are raised up with Christ and walk with Christ moment by moment. Jesus is the only cure. I hope you will join us as we come together this Sunday, May 30th, to hear from the God of Truth. Walking in the truth, Pastor Rick

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church, We generally don’t think of being patient during a time of suffering. We are usually in a hurry to get past the suffering and move on to good times. But let’s face it: times of sufferings can last weeks, months or even years. There is the loss of a job, the loss of health, or the loss of a loved one. There is the difficult work, the difficult child, the difficult marriage, or the difficult relationship. All of these tim...es of sufferings are better handled with patience. Who can we look to for help in being patient? Well, of course we can, and should look to God. And James reminds us in God’s Word that God has given us real examples of patience in suffering in the lives of the prophets. And then James reminds us of Job. This Sunday, May 23rd, we will do exactly that. We will look at a few of the prophets and we will look at the suffering of Job and glean some great examples of patience in suffering. See more

Dear friend of Pine Mountain Church, This Sunday, May 9th, we will be gathering to worship, honor the mothers among us (this Sunday is Mother’s Day), hear a passage from the Word of God of a heroic mother, and then take communion together. There are many heroic mothers in Scripture, and this Sunday, we will see how God blessed a mother in Zarephath during the time of the prophet Elijah. This mother was a widow, dealing with the difficulties of caring for herself and her son d...uring a time of famine. In spite of her sorrows and financial difficulties, she trusted God. Even Jesus mentions this woman in Luke 4:25, as a lady noticed and cared for by God. We will see that although this lady lived in an obscure place, God knew her and her struggles. And we will see that her simple act of faith in God resulted in a miracle. PLEASE NOTE THESE COMMENTS AND EVENTS: * I want to Thank Alys Montilla for again decorating our Church sanctuary with beautiful banners, candles and flowers.
