CAR-JACKED AT GUNPOINT yesterday at 10:30am. Just arrived in front of our house when the driver side door opened and a pistol placed at my head. Shortly after t...he 3 middle-school looking males sped off with my car, money and several thousand dollars worth of music and video gear that I was bringing home from church. Although most things are replaceable, not so with my many custom-modified harmonicas- just in case anyone might come across any. Be extra careful out there. See more

It is such a joy to seek out the "perfect" image for the Sunday bulletin each week. The beautiful image featured in today's bulletin is "Jesus Feeds the 5,000" by artist Laura James. To see more of her beautiful work, please go to https://www.laurajamesart.com/.

Well done, good and faithful servant of God! Well done, brave and faithful man of justice! We promise to make good trouble in your honor and memory. Peace be upon you.
Many thanks to all who joined our "Freedom Sunday" service this morning, as we reflected not just on Independence but on the sacred "Interdependence" that binds us as one people in the name and spirit of the Holy. Perhaps you noticed the rendering of the American flag hanging behind me this morning. It is the artist Faith Ringgold's version of the flag with the words of the 1st Amendment superimposed over the stars and stripes. It's titled "Freedom of Speech." And if you wer...e blessed by that beautiful performance by the cast of "Hamilton," here it is again, along with a link to the Langston Hughes poem "Let America Be America Again." Hughes' poem provides most of the words spoken along with "America the Beautiful." Wishing all of you a blessed week! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDv-MBqmMak https://www.poetryfoundation.org//let-america-be-america-a

Some of us gathered this evening in a Prayer Vigil for Justice, where we honored the lives of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and so many other Black lives lost to police brutality. "Keep your eyes on the prize.... hold on, hold on."
