Take your mom to the Bankhead Lobby this weekend to help celebrate Mother’s Day.
Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council is the lucky recipient of a generous grant from Savemart Stores. The ribbon cutting will be on May 11th, 5:00 at this newly remodeled Lucky Store at Hopyard and Las Positas. Thank you, Lucky Stores, for your donation!
PCAC Board Member, Anne Giancola, has created two temporary art pieces for installation in Downtown Pleasanton. They feature local artist’s interpretations of way finding signs to public art. Pointing the Way to Creativity signs will be in front of the Museum on Main and in front of Delucci Park on Neal Street this summer into early fall. Board Members Les Duman and Kelly Cousins help put the signs on the posts.
Savemart Supermarket and Lucky of California have generously donated to provide Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council with a grant for their work with school and community arts programs. The San Ramon Art and Wind Festival has ongoing events this week. Today, Thursday, is a chalk art demonstration.PCAC created a city-wide chalk and art festival, The Big Draw, featuring local artists, professional chalk artists and community groups and individual’s creative efforts along Division St. in Pleasanton.

Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council (PCAC) conducted a virtual zoom competition Youth Excellence in Arts Awards in Music and Literary Arts on November 6 and 8, 2020. The Visual Arts competition was conducted on November 7, 2020. Prior to the judging, student artists submitted three pieces of their art for adjudication. The judges viewed the submitted work, without student comments, on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Pleasanton students attending Amador and Foothill High Schools de...monstrated their incredible talents and won praise from the expert judges. A well-defined rubric scoring model was used for all contestants. Jump stART the Arts! features painted winter scenes on the windows throughout downtown Livermore. The Bankhead Theater lobby has some big windows for several great scenes. It’s well worth a trip to visit them.
