The City of Santa Cruz has targeted the street vendors on some bs. There’s a small campaign to help them with their legal fees. Go to @subrosa_sc for details.

I didn’t really know Murray, but I knew of him. He wasn’t my friend, but he was an ally. Murray, along with Gilberto, Stephanie, Chris, Patrick, and all of the bands that release here helped the studio become what it is, and I so very much appreciate that. Here’s to Murray.

Well shoot. The dark lord sure has blessed this little lobby. Thank you to everybody who has been part of this thing. I could go on tagging forever, so I’m glad IG sets the limit at 20 lol Anyway, if you’ve ever helped out, or played a show here you know who you are, and I fucking appreciate you. Special shout out to @daimonios for helping me light the fire you know what I’m sayin? Yeah you do So anyway, the 3 year anniversary is just right around the corner. I guess I should finally get around to getting some shirts printed up huh? Also, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have some of show or party or something. All I know is that I’m going all out and I’m gonna get lumpia from @kingeggrollexpress and an elotero! #diy #sanjose #music

There are several things they don’t tell you when you’re starting you’re own business. Maybe the most difficult is the feeling somewhat akin to having a kid. You are proud of it. You watch it grow, and after a while it takes on a life of its own. All the while you hope that your support system (family, friends, clients) is there to share the success with you. But sometimes they aren’t, and you just have to live with it. Since day one, my business has grown steadily. I’ve neve...r missed a lease payment, my brand has become very recognizable (way beyond my initial expectations), the studio has become a true creative space here in sj, and I have a waiting list of clients. Soon Playback Studios will turn 3 years old, and soon I’ll find someone willing to take a chance and help me expand. But for now I thank you for the support. I very much appreciate it. See more
