Hi all! While Eden’s away I’m attempting to take over. I just wanted to share with you a side project we did. Any of you who know me personally know that I spent ten years working in affordable housing. When given this opportunity to create a more homelike community for homeless families, I jumped at it. Right now especially, people need help. Whatever you can do to support your community, volunteer work or even a couple bucks, I ask you to please consider it. (I have no idea how to tag on a business page- but thank you again to Destination: Home, Amigos de Guadalupe, County of Santa Clara, California and of course Johnny’s Nursery!

Plantlush had the honor of designing and installing the planter boxes for this wonderful cause. Each repurposed wine barrel was purchased from a local reseller with ties to Bay Area wineries. The plants are from a small business/local grower in Half Moon Bay! Thank you again for giving us this opportunity to support our community with plants as diverse and colorful as our residents.

this week we’ve extended our sale to 40% off all holiday plants (poinsettias, holly, mistletoe, tiny trees and norfolks) and 30% off all other holiday items including decor and ornaments! we’re open from 12-4pm today and will be operating at limited capacity of 3 customers in the store at a time. we will be enforcing social distancing, requiring masks, and asking all customers to sanitize hands before entry. HAPPY THURSDAY! you’ve made it past the middle of the week and it’s the home stretch to the weekend! We’ve been getting a ton of DMs about whether or not we provide repotting services and the answer is YES! As always, if you buy a plant and pot combo with us we would be happy to repot in store free of charge before you make your purchase. If you are bringing in your own plant and planter, we charge a small fee depending on the CURRENT size of the pot your plant is in. This ...fee is to cover labor and supplies cost as we use our own soil mixes for this service. If you are planning on purchasing a planter from us in store, please give us a message ahead of time to make sure we have the adequate size-up pots in stock before coming to store. We do offer nursery/plastic pot purchases as well for $1. In other news, the store is PACKED to the brim with new plants this week. It may be the most lush it’s ever been. Calathea lancifolia, the Rattlesnake Calathea, is a colorful member of the prayer plant family, Marantaceae. Calatheas are often called 'prayer plants' because of their unique leaf movements: they raise and lower their leaves from day to night as a part of their circadian rhythm. This phenomenon is called nyctinasty and is caused by water flow in and out of the leaf nodes. Hi all! It’s Leandra. I will be gone camping this weekend in the Los Padres National Forest. We’ve got new rocks in the store! Here’s a little bit about the artist, Cynthia. A San Jose Native, self taught Artist. My medium is Portrait art activism and Mixed Art Medium. My Art background is primarily in Fashion Design for a period in college. I started displaying my Art years ago as a Member of the Fine Arts Ministry in Family Community Church. My work was featured in bi-monthly exhibits and sold on an individual basis.I have created everything from Large ornate ...crosses to functional mosaic art for the home to my socially conscious RockArt. On occasion I have created rocks (non-Portrait) with inspirational messages to leave out in the community for others to find, in hopes to inspire others. My direction to small Portraits is my attempt to honor all the lives that some question the importance of their existence. We were born to contribute and these faces are just a few of many that I never doubted matter to their families, their communities, and to this world. I never painted before George Floyd's devastating killing. His face was the first I painted. It is important in life to use the God given talents you have to bless others, and we all have them. I will continue to paint faces, all of which matter until all Black lives Matter is in the consciousness of all mankind; only then can I say All Lives Matter when blacks are included in that statement and not excluded.
