The speech is expected to tout the agenda that he has pushed in his first 30 days in office. He will speak of protecting the American people through a much more aggressive immigration screening and deportation program. He will speak of the need to rebuild our military. This January has marked two events: the beginning of Donald Trump's presidency and the reporting of 4th quarter 2016 earnings. The stock market is slightly higher in January than where it landed on the last trading day of 2016. The real action happened after the election up through the mid part of December. John Maynard Keynes, the well respected economist from the first part of the 20th century, coined the phrase "Animal Spirits" in 1936 to describe a certain type of economic behavior. Keynes definition of the behavior is as follows: "instincts, proclivities and emotions that ostensibly influence and guide human behavior, and which can be measured in terms of, for example, consumer confidence."
