Pittsburg Farmers' Market

Today the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) is stepping forward to join thousands of other nonprofit organizations around the nation in public opposition to systemic racism and to say that Black Lives Matter. We believe that not only is it possible to build a more just, fair and loving society, it is essential that we do so. We understand that this statement is just one step toward that end, and we will make an ongoing effort to grow and develop as an organization in hopes that we never again have to kneel with those mourning the loss of a life stolen by racism. Dear Farmers’ Market Friends, Due to the extension of the Shelter in Place order, we have decided to delay the opening of the Pittsburg Farmers' Market to a later date that has yet to be determined. As a non-profit whose mission is to connect Bay Area communities with local farms, we do not take this decision lightly. But given the challenges of safely operating a farmers’ market at this time, we believe this decision is in the best interest of our farmers and the community. ...We will provide updates as the situation develops and we thank you for supporting your farmers’ market! Please help us support local farmers through this difficult time by writing Governor Newsom, your local County Health Department, and your city officials to allow farmers’ markets to operate as an exception to the Governor’s executive order like grocery stores.
