Pinole Art Center Gallery

I’m sad to say that the Pinole Artisans Art Gallery was broken into over the weekend. Probably sometime between Sunday and Tuesday morning. Someone was able to gain entry through the backdoor. When Kathy arrived the lockbox was open and the key was missing. The backroom was ransacked and they went into the main gallery. Peggy Mathews, Dave Earls, Raven Iacono, Marilyn Hertzberg, Stephanie Haught and myself (Eric Carlstrom) had artwork stolen. Retail value of items stolen we...re approximately over $7,500. $6,000 of which was mine, mostly my larger high priced originals and all my paper giclee prints, all my smalls (watercolor and acrylics), my charcoal drawings and even a self portrait of all things. They took the gallery laptop, cash box with $100 cash, 2 touch less thermometers and miscellaneous art supplies. Nobody was hurt thank goodness. But, because they got the key we had to get the gallery rekeyed and that cost us $600. Sent from my iPhone

Ira Nelken does great watercolor and pastel artwork. The glass over the artwork doesn’t give it justice. That’s why you need to come to the gallery, so you can see how great they are and can figure out exactly where it’ll go in the house. Come buy art. Wednesday thru Xmas 12-4.

And speaking of stocking stuffers. Stephanie Haught has hand made stockings you can buy to put those gifts in. She crochets and knits hats, scarves, other clothing, bags, blankets, pot holders, etc. Even crocheted jewelry.

Raven Iacono does encaustic art (wax) and mixed media. Beautiful art, cards and hand made note books. They make great stocking stuffers and gifts. Support local artists.

If you didn’t get it on Xmas. Come in after and spend that cash you got on cool stuff. We are open every day 12-4 until December 28th. (Closed Christmas Day)
