If you’re like me, life can get away from you sometimes. Whether it’s running to the grocery store and realizing that half of my day is gone, and my shopping cart is filled with comfort food and kombucha. Or feeling frazzled by all the different directions my work pulls me. But exercise - more specifically Pilates - is a place to clear my head and bring my feet firmly back on the ground for the next marathon in life. Honey, sometimes you just need to look off in the distance, remember why you're there working your butt off on the reformer, and push past the burn. A little bicep workout - Grab ahold of the tower bar with both hands, palms facing toward your face. Lift and engage the back gently and point the toes. Extend the arms and press yourself back to the tower for a count of 4. Then, release the right hand to rest gently on the small of the back. Extend your left arm and press yourself toward the tower for a count of 4. Then, switch arms.
A little side plank action today
Make those traps - Pop onto the reformer, facing the tower. Keep your torso at 90 degrees to your legs as you slip your forearms into the straps. Then, like a cactus, raise your arms and bring them forward so they touch. Then, bring them back for a count of 8. - Now switch it around, so you’re facing the bar. Slip the strap into the nook of your thumb and palm. Round the arms out to the side and bring the tips of the fingers to meet for a count of 6.
