Ever wonder why life can be so hard one moment and then so amazing the next? Maybe it’s not you. Maybe that's what being human is all about. Come to the fall play At Piedmont Hills High School on Friday, November 1st to find out. . The evening will include the performance of seven short plays. Please note: The Rating is PG-13 and the use of a strobe light will be used. Tickets are only $6 and are on sale now at the school bank or online at PHHSDRAMA.COM.... WALLS: Walls is a look at the assumptions and expectations between parents and their children and the barriers and dysfunction that develop between them. GETTING IT BACK: Gayle questions whether her love for Lendall is real and she starts to wonder how much of her love she should actually give to someone else. THE BATTLE OF IMAGE vs. GIRL: One girl. One mirror. One daily battle for self-esteem and approval. When a 16-year old girl comes home, she is confronted by her mirrored and distorted self. In The Battle of Image vs. Girl, we see just how dark and damaging our inner voices can be when it comes to body image and self-perception. FERRIS WHEEL: An annual tradition turns into an awkward moment between two strangers when a ferris wheel abruptly stops and two riders, John and Dorie, are stuck 30 feet in the air. With only inches between them and a small metal bar holding them from falling, what will they do? Ferris Wheel is an introspective look at how our fears and personalities are formed and sometimes broken. LOOK, A LATINO! Young and frustrated, Enrique is arrested for shoplifting, so when he shows up with an expensive pair of earrings for his mother’s birthday, even she can’t help wondering if he’s turned over a new leaf or up to his old tricks. Look, a Latino! brings to light questions of race, identity and truth in a world more complicated than labels or stereotypes. THE INTERNET IS DISTRACT -- OH LOOK, A KITTEN! Micah has twenty minutes to finish her paper on The Great Gatsby. She just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Facebook lurkers, and pig-throwing games threaten to take over Micah's schoolwork, or worse. Will she finish her paper and escape with life before the school bell rings? A high-octane comedy that explores the rabbit hole of distraction we all go down every time we go online. Be part of history by being in the audience for the world premiere of the play CONFINED. All those in attendance will be included in the world premier photo. CONFINED: Barely clinging on to life, the morose and suicidal Edgar, an inmate of solitary confinement, is literally confronted by Death, where they contemplate the nature of life, death and the confined spaces in which they inhabit.
