Three years ago this week I quit my job to do photography full-time! It's so crazy to think back on life back then...I was a brand new mom working a full-time day job, running a full-time business and I had a new "side hustle" business on top of that. I'm so grateful for the freedoms photography has allowed me; mainly, to be home with my babies while I edit, email, and all the other "behind the scenes" stuff this business entails. ... Happy Mondayish Tuesday! Wedding season starts this week!! I have my own wedding on Friday and then I’m helping a friend shoot a wedding on Saturday! Would you believe it if I said I have only second shot a wedding ONCE in my life?! Second shooting many weddings before starting a business would have been the right way to do it, but I guess it worked out I also have 4 portrait sessions this week. I guess busy season is here!

Pictures with groomsmen are always so much fun (and pretty rowdy!) Just SO ready for my wedding season to officially start in a few weeks!

My birthday was last week and Greg filled our home with peonies I've been living in peony bliss and I'm in denial that their season is ending!

I'm the photographer for those that feel pictures aren't the most important part of the day. For those that understand that quality time with all their loved ones is rare - and should be taken full advantage of on the wedding day. You'll hear people say that photos are all that's left of your day- but I believe actual memories should be more prominent. And if you spend the whole day taking pictures you risk not making deep & meaningful me...mories So I've worked and worked to become efficient for you. To get the pictures done in the time frame you want (or sooner!) so you can get back to the party And hey, your guests may thank you since they won't have to wait too long for dinner! Getting diamond rings to stand up straight: a skill I've acquired that is useless outside of photography But hey - I can tackle those ring shots in one minute or less so it's good for something! And if you're a bride, these chunky heels are a good way to be comfy and still fancy!

Any chance to celebrate your relationship, you should take it! Engagement sessions included One reason I love this industry is that it elevates & celebrates marriages. And marriage is something God-ordained, poked fun at by society, yet it can make the biggest difference in home life & ultimately our society. So yeah, do the engagement session.
