VETERANS DAY CLINIC Elk Grove Soccer will be running a Veterans Day Soccer Clinic (https://buff.ly/2wFKM8x) from 9am-12pm. The session will be run by the Director of Coaching for our U9-U12 program, Dan James and Full-time Coach, Jack Caulton. This session is for all age groups and will focus on Agility, Balance and Coordination work. As well as focusing on outplaying opponents 1v1.

By Popular Demand EGYSL Extends Early Bird $99 Fall Recreation Registration Fee to March 31, 2015 You asked for it. Elk Grove Recreation Soccer will keep its early bird fall recreation fee of $99 available through the end of March. We are up and running with a new, easy-to-use registration system that we know you will appreciate. More importantly, there are no fees to register on-line. Fall recreation soccer season begins in September, and practices will start July/August.... You will have access to all the same soccer fields and the same great program we have offered in the past. An agreement has been reached between the Elk Grove Youth Soccer League (EGYSL) that will maintain affiliation for all Pleasant Grove soccer players/teams under the 2015 Bylaws passed during Monday’s league-wide board meeting. The agreement creates a more advantageous environment for recreational players and strengthens the recreation program league wide.

Dear PGSC families, coaches and volunteers: The PGSC Board would like to extend a sincere thank you to you for making the 2014 Jamboree the most successful we have had in many, many years. Everyone worked hard including the coaches, the teams, their families, and all of the wonderful volunteers. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Elk Grove Police K-9 Unit and the Elk Grove Fire Department for participating. We also cannot forget to thank the 54 businesses... that kindly donated baskets for the raffle and auction. One last final thank you to all of the teams who donated baskets for the raffle and silent auction. We had 97% participation from our 57 teams. The funds that we raised from the food sales, the raffle tickets, and the silent auction far exceeded what we raised in the previous years. This money will be used to support extra programs such as the Academic All American Awards and the purchasing of additional supplies such as pennies, balls, goal nets, pop up goals, etc.. Thank you very much for all the support at the 2013 PGSC Awards Ceremony last night. We handed out a record 267 Academic All American Awards. We also gave out our first ever Sportsmanship award, given to one player from each of our 56 teams that represented extraordinary Sportsmanship for the season. Congratulations to all.

Reading the essays the players are writing for their Academic All American awards is very touching and shows great insight into the kids love of soccer. An overwhelming thing is how much the kids love having their parents practice with them, and cheer them on! It isn't too late to turn the applications in. If you are having a hard time getting a report card or progress report have the teacher write me a small note. All kids even kindergarteners are eligible. Don't miss out on this opportunity for your child to be recognized for their good grades during soccer season. The deadline is Wednesday.

Don't forget to turn in those Academic All American award applications asap. They need to be in by October 30 no late applications will be accepted. Please don't forget to include a copy of the progress report or report card and that the essay must be hand written. Email [email protected] with any questions.

No league game this weekend but we have many teams participating in one of the local tournaments/ jamborees at the break. Great expierence for all players. Comment with your team name and location. Don't forget to post your pictures!
