SOLD | Lovely, older (but updated) home in Mar Vista. So much of what makes homes work is the vibe. What do you see here, a trashcan? I see beauty and order. This gorgeous thing arrived from the City this morning and I love it as much as a new puppy. Homeownership is many things. Instagram feeds are filled with the seductive ‘beauty’ shots of perfect homes and garden, smiling agents, nary a spot of dirt in sight.... The reality of ‘running’ an actual home is something quite different. There are always dishes to do. There is always trash building up. There is always dust collecting. These things must be maintained and managed and taken care of. Marriages can break up over these issues (or so they say - your mileage may vary - please share in the comments). Trash cans are so very important. In the rains last week, our can disappeared. Yes, I walked down the street and tried to ID our can. In fact, what I learned was that the City no longer tracks ID #’s to addresses. Interesting. Most importantly, I ordered a new can. And DWP, in their infinite generosity (I mean, we our bill is only about $600 - ugh), delivered a shiny, new beauty to us. Happiest I’ve been in a while. If you know you know, right?
