It always amazes me to look at the little, wrinkled brown seeds and think of the rainbows in 'em," said Captain Jim. "When I ponder on them seeds I don't find it nowise hard to believe that we've got souls that'll live in other worlds. You couldn't hardly believe there was life in them tiny things, some no bigger than grains of dust, let alone colour and scent, if you hadn't seen the miracle, could you? L.M. Odd as I am sure it will appear to some, I can think of no better form of personal involvement in the cure of the environment than that of gardening. A person who is growing a garden, if he is growing it organically, is improving a piece of the world. He is producing something to eat, which makes him somewhat independent of the grocery business, but he is also enlarging, for himself, the meaning of food and the pleasure of eating. Did you know we save our ashes from grilling on deck here for use in the Perfume Camp Scent Garden. We save our spent coffee beans too and integrate both into garden. Do you have a sustainable practice for your garden? We have some big compost piles that have wintered over from last year and they are looking great; Little by little they naturally breakdown to become fertile, rich soil we use in the mulching process. What are your best practices?

The greatest fine art of the future will be the making of a comfortable living from a small piece of land. Abraham Lincoln Did you know that our #ScentGarden is home to flowers, herbs and veggies that make up ingredients in our Herb Teas, Perfumes and we offer summer veggies at the shops. It's amazing what can be done on 1/3 of an acre. We invite you to BOOK a PERFUME CAMP Session :) soon. We conduct each session with just you, and a bff socially distanced in our barn (or in Davenport Studio).
