Spoken Word Graphic Stories, Grade: 9-12 (ages 13-21) In this 15 session distance learning summer intensive, we will explore how to translate poetry into illustrations on paper. Students in this graphic poetry class will explore dialogue, space, color, intensity, perspective, and iconography to write dynamic poetry while we investigate, question, and challenge our own associations of words and pictures. At the end of the residency, we will turn a spoken word poetry piece into a complete illustrated comic, aiming to visualize the feelings, sounds, and aspects of our own identities that we explore in our poems. https://www.performingartsworkshop.org/reimagine-distanc//
