A few decades ago a company called Interface came up with the idea of making carpet in tiles instead of rolls. It took a while to catch on but now it has taken over the commercial market. There are dozens of manufacturers making thousands of different patterns and colors. Very durable and easier to install, especially in occupied spaces. We love it!
New commercial carpet for this corporate office space in soma
This is a vinyl plank floor installed over sound reduction rubber underlayment and finished off with wood wall base.
Installing new carpet tile in the mayor and council members of the city of Berkeley’s offices.
A wool zebra carpet with border. I liked the way this job came out so I bought a roll of zebra print carpet. Not for everyone but it's pretty cool.
Changing out all the carpet at the Chanel store downtown SF. Back of the house too. Tough to work downtown because of the parking, traffic, etc. Our crews have been at it for five nights...
Is there such a thing as a Rock n Roll carpet? If so, this is it. My client, a rock singer, asked for a "kick ass, melt your face carpet" We worked together to design this carpet, which we are installing in his hotel. It has rehearsal studios downstairs and hotel rooms upstairs. A rock n roll carpet for a rocker and his rock n roll hotel.
How I spent my winter vacation-working at SFSU installing new linoleum flooring in these classrooms. Thanks to our crew for an amazing job. But, I just found out the company that installed the new seats damaged some of the work. Going back this afternoon to see what we can do to fix it!
Installing a great carpet from Masland contract in the ballroom of the golden gate club. This unique event venue has incredible views of San Francisco Bay.
SFSU totally remodeled this classroom in the Science building for the fall semester. This pic was taken after we installed linoleum tile, stair nosing, and walk base. Ready for the new chairs, then the students can chill out while learning Walter White like stuff.
The staff in the admin building at SFSU wanted a bold look for their offices and achieved it with this carpet tile made by Patcraft.
LVT, or luxury vinyl tile, is all the rage these days but there have been quality products in the market for a long time. We installed this commercial LVT in a retirement home lobby in the mid 80's and it still looks good. The epoxy adhesive we used is so strong that even where the foundation cracked during the quake in '89, the tile refused to pop-it just stretched. Don't ever install floor coverings with two part epoxy unless your sure you like it! It's going to be down on the floor a long time:-)
