The Reverse Advent was fun for us, but most importantly, it was a blessing to us and our community, to serve in this way.

We had a great time buying turkeys and the fixings for many families and were able to donate those in additon to a check. Grateful to God for our blessings and the EGFBS.

As we prepare to resume having church worship services in person, the Session has approved the following to guide us in our preparation, using the federal and state guidelines for health. Our plan is to resume Sunday in person worship on Sunday June 14, with Zoom access so people may choose to worship in person or from home. We will continue with Bible studies on Zoom until approved by Sacramento county to meet in person and then all studies will have a combination of liv...e and Zoom aspects. As of this email, the county has approved worship services with particular limitations, but our county has not yet approved in person social gatherings of any kind, such as Bible Studies or meetings. Preparation before the service Sundays will begin at 9:30 with prayer and preparation. As needed, we will wipe down furniture and used areas, such as bathrooms and doors before and after church (these same areas will be cleaned after the service as well). All outer doors will be opened and remain open to allow for fresh air flow. Entering church Everyone will be asked to use either the provided or their own hand sanitizer before entering the building. We will maintain Social Distance during the service, with a six feet distancefour chairs to side or sit in second row back from others. We strongly encourage you to bring and wear masks as a means of caring for others. Changes in our service For now, our Sunday schedule will be distinctly different. We will only have worship service on Sundays, with a streamlined service as we have been doing on Zoom. We will not have Bible Study Hour or Kids’ Church and will reevaluate after September 1. Some changes to our normal service details include: no bulletins; no passing of offering plates (offering plates will be left out for you to put offerings in), friendship pads or prayer sheets. There will not be shaking of hands or hugs during the welcome time. Details on celebrating Communion together in this season will be sent out later on. Fellowship The tables in the Fellowship Hall will be put away and only small water bottles will be available. We invite you to bring your own water bottles too as this summer will be warm. The playground and classrooms will not be open for use or play. After church, we will not have fellowship time inside, but you are welcome to socialize at a distance outside. All of these changes are to meant to express Christ’s love to each other and to our community as the loving Peace family that we are. The Session will be reevaluating any and all of these changes after September 1 and as needed based on any changes in state and county guidelines. May each of us choose to be flexible and gracious with one another in this season. Robin Daniels, Elder Sally Eversole, Elder Allen Griffin, Elder Josephat Kathuka, Elder Jennifer Mederos, Elder Julie Reager, Elder Brian Spangler, Pastor

WORSHIP UPDATE: The Session has been praying over how to respond with faith and hope to recent events in California and Elk Grove. We believe, we too, must be part of the community mitigation being called for by our leaders. We will not meet in person for church for at least a few more weeks. We are using Zoom conferencing to meet for Sunday worship. Instructions are sent via email, but do call if you need help setting up your computer, a tablet, or cell phone to pray and ...worship with us, the body of Jesus. All Bible studies are through Zoom conferencing for now and we are considering how to continue using Zoom for those who will need to remain at home when the building is reopened. Our preschool will also remain closed until further notice. We continue to reevaluate how to proceed as we prepare the building and ourselves for worship in the Sanctuary. +I am sending out regular emails to keep in touch with all of you, with the goal of sharing devotions to encourage and uplift you spiritually. ... +I am sending out attachments of Digging Deeper studies and my weekly sermons to everyone via email. If you need any help with errands, Deacon Izzy S. or Alan E. are available to help. Please call me, email me or text me if you would like to pray or talk for any reason. As believers, we celebrate that Jesus, as Emmanuel, is God with us. God will be with each of us in every moment, to bring us a peace that surpasses all understanding, to reassure us and to remind us that He is with us and that He loves us. I miss seeing each of you and I look forward to the time when we can resume being the church together in person. Jesus loves you and I do too! Let us pray for healing and wholeness. Pastor Brian
