Do not accept their "free evaluation" 95% of the time the most you need to do is close the browser (if all else fails try alt-f4) or reboot the computer. Might want to pass on visiting the same site for a few days.

Latest super duper network upgrades.

Lately I have had several customers telling me that they called and had remote sessions with support techs from firefox, thunderbird, and various other free software offerings. It is almost a universal truth that none of these software companies offer remote support for their free software. Various scammy support providers charging 2-3 times what a local shop are advertising as support providers for companies that do not offer it.

Wow...dell just royally screwed over one of my customers. The web based software that the used to run their business will only work with Internet Explorer 9 or older. My customer ask dell if he could get the windows 7 pro 64 bit with Internet Explorer 9 dell of course says " no problem"

Always remember, people who call claiming to be Microsoft support technicians claiming you have viruses are not from microsoft. They are all 100% scam artists trying to convince you to pay them to fix a non problem. Amusingly enough people do fall for this regularly and pay 2-3 times more than a real virus cleanup would cost from someplace like us.
