Ok. Tearing up reading this because it’s so very true.
Sharing from my wise friend. The staff of Pawfection has been absolutely humbled by the love and support from all of our wonderful clients this year through our huge flood, being shutdown, booked for weeks at a time trying to get our doggies back in tip top shape, generous cash donations and continued support. We appreciate each and everyone one of you. ... We are still standing through what seems like an impossible feat this year. Our hearts are full!! May you all have an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving

Look at the cute pumpkin I commissioned my friend to make. It’s the little things than can bring such happiness! She did such an awesome job.
Just a friendly reminder: We are booking a week out regularly for haircuts and 3-5 days for bath dogs. Please plan ahead or pre-book your appointment at pick up and/or on a reoccurring schedule for the year. Thank you. We appreciate all the great reviews and referrals.
This is why we cringe when owners say they can just cut mats out with scissors. It’s HIGHLY dangerous. It’s difficult to ascertain where fur ends and skin begins. In no way is this post meant to shame anybody but to educate instead. Regular grooming is very important so that mats don’t have a chance to form. If you find yourself in a situation where your pet is matted please leave it to a skilled and trained professional.... Regular brushing and combing at home can help minimize matting if done properly. We have a great one on this page!!! We are always happy to show you in person, as well.

Enjoy this cuteness factor this evening!
Paying attention to body language and proper handling skills are 80% of the success in a good grooming. A little pat, hug or holding a paw can go a long way. We strive to meet each pet where they are at. No two grooms are the same. ... We take pride in finding the best way to groom each dog. ‘Certain breeds of dogs like golden retrievers, boxers, and shepherds more commonly use their front paws throughout play & interaction. When a dog reaches out for you before, during, or after the grooming process, that is a way of them communicating to you. They are seeking connection, reassurance and acknowledgement. Sometimes they are happy and want affirmation for how good they are. Sometimes they’re scared and anxious and reaching out becomes a coping mechanism. No matter the reason, it is an incredible moment of humble vulnerability, and a chance to really connect with them. If you can take just a moment to stop what you’re doing and take their paw and hold it gently; maybe give it a rub or a shake and tell them in a gentle sweet voice that they are a good boy or another gesture of connection, you will strengthen your bond with that dog. Stronger bonds build more trust. More trust builds better dogs for their grooming visits. #themindfulgroomer’ -Christine Pearson
