Scent work is a great middle ground for the lazy dog owner who has a more active dog. Instead of taking your dog on long walk, teach him to use his nose while he tears up the area. The mental energy required is so great, you do a good session for about 20 minutes, your dog will be guaranteed tired. Teaching it to your dog is also super fun and gives you a chance to laugh at how much of a goofball your dog is (He looked right at it!)

The old question of which is smarter- the one that can do all that it's told to do or the one that can make you do all it tells you to do?

This is actually an interesting concept. A lot of dog aggression is actually fear based. A dog is a lot more likely to snap if they feel insecure. And dogs being the little mind readers that they are, they'll pick up if you or those around them are also feeling nervous. And if someone else is nervous, you're more likely to get more nervous. And it just turns into this neverending cycle of dogs and owners making each other more nervous and more likely for someone to get hurt. ...So a lot of people will go to muzzles to prevent the hurt part. But muzzles, while preventing bites while on, can make your dog look more intimidating so now everyone that sees your dog automatically gets nervous. Then the cycle gets worse as does the aggression and it can get to a pretty extreme and dangerous point. But this muzzle is pretty silly and people are more likely to relax if they saw a dog in one of these Personally, I'm not a huge fan of muzzles. I prefer to correct the behavior head on rather than treating symptoms and making more work for myself. But there are times that call for a muzzle and if I had a choice, I'd lean to this one. We will watch your pets like a hawk watches prey! Minus the kidnapping-homicide that usually ensues.
