What do we do in the winter time? Get ready for our visitors! In addition to caring for plants, setting in new irrigation, and trying to handle weeds we are thinking of games and gardens. Hope to see you this Spring!

Up early this Christmas Morning to plant crimson clover in our "new" Monarch Meadow. New because it has just been created. Earlier this month we had volunteers plant over 400 native plants specifically selected to support Monarch Butterflies and other pollinators. With the rain we had last week I was able to rototill the soil to a wonderful fluffy seed bed. It should be beautiful in April and May -- hope you can drive out to Capay Valley and enjoy the day strolling thru the Meadow or having a picnic.

We had a beautiful sunrise today at the Farm -- and we have RAIN in the forecast for this afternoon and the weekend. Time for a celebration!

A beautiful day for a wedding! Richard and I tied the knot this morning and are now going to San Francisco for two days of honeymoon (and no work!). It is a dream come true to have this man join me in the quest to build a welcoming, gracious lavender farm.

It was truly spectacular to have the rainbow sighting. I know -- it's obvious to have a rainbow when we have RAIN; we haven't had rain since May. Fall is beautiful here in Capay Valley. I am thankful to have found this wonderful place to follow my dream to be a farmHer.
