This is what some Mondays look like for a traveling attorney. An early sunrise with a full moon in Butte County, a trip up the beautiful Feather River Canyon for court in Plumas County (Quincy): and a cruise around Lake Tahoe for an El Dorado County client . All told, the trusty office Toyota logged close to 400 miles while passing through Sacramento, Yuba, Butte, Plumas, Sierra, Placer and El Droado counties.

In my office, I keep a few of the many books my family has written as a tangible reminder of the value of scholarship, creativity, and literary contribution that improves the human condition. If you’ve noticed this collection in person, you have probably discussed legal issues with me that are extremely personal to you or your loved ones. I am thankful each day for having found a niche in a helping profession. Criminal defense attorneys are often are negatively prejudged and disparaged, sometimes deservedly. But in the shallow world of social media,it is far easier to criticize attorneys than to think about the valuable contributions they make to keep our justice system from running amok.
