American Modern Chic (1952)... A modernist twist on the traditional wingback chair doesn't get much better than this. The story goes that the original owner, an executive at Dodge Division (as in Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge) in Detroit, after a decade of owning it, decided to have it reupholstered. But this chair wasn't taken to just any upholstery shop. It was delivered to the interior design studio at Dodge, where it was outfitted with the latest blue wool fabric, straight from the 1962 Dodge fabric selections. How cool is that? Google George Agoston (American, 1920-2008) ,and you'll see he wrote an important book on color theory, but he was also a gifted painter in the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid 20th century.
