Today we paid a final visit to our pretty Oregon home. After renting it out during our first decade in California we opted to take advantage of this incredible real estate market and sell. We did all the things we tell our staging clients to do. We painted, we repaired, we updated, we staged! We put it on the market at what we thought was a fair price and all of our hard work as well as the favorable real estate market put it up over asking and quickly sold. The new buyer...s seem as in chanted with our home as we did the day we bought it. All the preparation and getting the house ready for sale, does not get you ready for the emotion of doing so. It was a bitter sweet moment to walk through the home for one last time, complete with waterworks. If you are in the process or planning stages of getting ready to sell your home, know that proper preparation is well worth your while but it is an emotional toll. And it’s OK to feel that way.
