Indoor vs. Outdoor lighting. These two photos were taken just minutes apart from each other. One was inside, in my salon chair, the other was outside in front of the door. Same exact client, same day, same color, but they look different. As you can see, the photo on the left looks a bit warmer and is taking on some of the hues of the colors inside the salon. It also has a shine light from the fluorescent lights above my chair. ... The photo on the right appears brighter and showcases the depth and dimension more. There are no shine lights and it’s taken in indirect sunlight so the color is not getting blown out. Both are the same color, both look amazing, but the right one is truer to the tone you see in real life. This is why I LOOOOVE taking photos outside so I can showcase a true representation of my work. This is an example of how lighting and surroundings can affect the way you see an image. things I do to start my day with a good mindset. 1. Set a time to get up and a time to be out of bed during work days. 2. Set a time limit for checking my phone in the morning so I don’t spend too long scrolling. ... 3. Read a book for 20-30 minutes. 4. Meditate and set an intention for the day. 5. Do some kind of movement. Walk, workout, etc for at least 30 minutes. This is a new routine I started doing and notice that I now have so much more energy and motivation. By the time I start work I’m feeling focused. When I’m focused I’m productive, and when I’m productive I feel good. . Crazy how a few simple changes can affect your entire day. I’m actually starting to look forward to getting up and moving each day. If you’ve been having a hard time focusing or getting motivated in the mornings try doing one or a few of these things for a week and see if they help. Hey Blondies! Have you ever been told to use Purple shampoo? I’m pretty sure all the hands just went up. Now my next question, do you know WHY?? Ahhhh yes, I see I stumped some of you there. The reason I recommend purple shampoo to my blondes is because purple is a complimentary color to yellow.... What happens over time is that through shampooing, and heat use, the toning gloss that gave you the color you wanted fades out, leaving you with a raw blonde. Raw blonde is YELLOW . So you use a PURPLE shampoo to deposit some purple tones that will counteract that yellow and give you the neutral or cool tones you had in the beginning. .
