"A garden is not a place. It's a journey." Monty Don. This is me in my very first rose garden circa 2007. We moved from LA, my kids were young, I had given up my business Fifi&Fido, and decided to be a stay at home mom/housewife. I ordered bare root roses from Jackson and Perkins. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I was following The inner callings to get more in tune with nature. Life in Montecito didn’t help me get grounded. There were many glittering distraction...s which kept me from truly grounding myself. These were painful years in my forties. From 37-47 I lost myself. I knew inside there was something more for me but I wasn’t sure what it was or how to get there. I kept trying to make beautiful homes for us so we could be settled but it never seemed to be enough. I’ve learned that it isn’t the external things that make you happy. The fancy vacations,the boat, the Mercedes, the parties, the glitz, the dresses, the objects... it’s the inner work- the self love,the self forgiveness, the being enough, flaws and all. #garden#lifelessons#thejourney #selflove #iamenough See more
