Optimists of Pacific Palisades

Sorry to report our founding club member Mike Martini fell and broke a hip yesterday. Family reports he is doing well and will stay in St. Johns for a couple more days. Prayers and best wishes from his Optimist Club Family.

The featured speaker at our January 14, 2020 Tuesday morning meeting will be Pali High Senior Chase McSorley who will talk about his experience last summer as an volunteer intern on a Floating Doctors medical humanitarian trip to the far reaches of the jungle in Panama. On Nov. 19th Chase was awarded Optimist Student of the Month for his dedication and service to others.

Optimist Club is GREAT. Come on down and join us for breakfast on Tuesday morning.

Student of the Month DAN ACKERMAN introduced our Student of the Month, ERWIN BARILLAS. ERWIN explained how he overcame adversity from an injury that sidetracked his football skills at Palihi by maintaining a positive attitude. ERWIN is not only a jock but also a scholar with multiple offers from prestigious universities. He is inclined toward a pre-med major. He has a great presence at the podium and it is apparent that whatever he chooses to pursue, he will be exceptional. Congratulations ERWIN!
