Quality Family Time + Hands on Jewish Learning = Sing Shalom! Starts October 18th at 10am Join Rabbi Katie, Music Director Mikey and Education Director Zehava for active learning with the whole family through Havdalah, music, movement, crafts, cooking and stories. Once a month we will send home materials for our hands-on projects.... Aimed for parents/grandparents/caretakers with kids ages 0-7. (Older siblings welcome of course!) Today is Hoshanah Rabbah, a somewhat obscure holiday on which the most earthy side of Judaism reigns supreme. Participants walk in circles with the lulav and e...trog crying out liturgy punctuated with Hoshanah! Save us! Tomorrow before Simchat Torah, we close out Sukkot with Shmini Atzeret featuring elaborate prayers for rain. In this time of pandemic, wildfire, corruption and climate emergency, I don’t think I’ve ever felt the need for these prayers so urgently. May the crises of this moment propel us to profound transformation, and may our prayers for a better future be answered quickly! Want to try it?
